Former President Bill Clinton teamed with Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg in welcoming Sir Elton John to the 60-Club at last night's Madison Square Garden birthday bash in NYC for the Red Piano man. The Caesars Palace headliner was also feted by A-list stars Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Sir Michael Caine, Kid Rock and k.d. lang. Fashion designer Donna Karan and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein were also among the VIP guests. In a tribute to the British born entertainer, the number 60 was raised to the rafters of the Garden alongside all of the great sports stars who have played in the arena. The number 60 is of course Sir Elton's age, but also the number of times he has performed at The Garden. Robin roasted Elton joking about his same-sex marriage to David Furnish.
The highlight of the night was when Elton's 30-year writing partner Bernie Taupin led the star-studded crowd in a 'Happy Birthday' singalong.
Expect another galaxy of stars to turn out for the third of Elton's birthday celebrations when he arrives in Vegas later this week for a new series of Red Piano concerts at The Collosseum in Caesars.
