With only two episodes remaining and five celebrities left in the Las Vegas mansion, 'Surreal Life: Fame Games' is heating up for next week's season finale.
In this episode, 'non-accusations of subconscience cheating' were flying about in a shouting match with Sandy 'Pepa' Denton in one corner and Rob 'Vanilla Ice' Van Winkle in the other and neither one of them were getting kicked off the show.
It was American Badass, Verne Troyer that lost this edition of 'Back to Reality' and got booted out of 'Fame Games.' With Verne out, Pep, Rob, Traci Bingham and Ron Jeremy are the remaining Surreal stars heading into the finale where the winner will take the $100,000 grand prize.
Verne will be missed and he almost made it to the finale which isn't too shabby for the guy that was supposed to just be Robin's sidekick. You may remember he filled in when Jordan Knight unexpectedly and suspiciously left the show in the first episode.
The challenge for this episode involved each celeb's No. 1 fan being tethered to them for as log as possible with the first three duos who 'lost touch' with each other in jeopardy of getting kicked off of the show. To ensure the fan and star stayed in contact, a touch-sensitive buzzer was placed between the couple. If the buzzer alarm went off, it means that there had been a gap in physical contact. and the first three buzzers would be bad news.
Within the first 15 minutes, Verne and his fan, Monique, set off the buzzer. While they seemed to be a lock with Monique perched on Verne's cart, hand on his shoulder, not having a skin-on-skin contact proved to be a tactical error. Pep was next as she was trying to demonstrate how she would copy Ron's strategy of wrapping the fingers in a shoelace. After almost five hours, host Robin Leach and the producers decided to help the competition come to its natural conclusion by having all parties involved stand. In the process of standing, Traci's buzzer went off and she was the last of the three celebs slated to play the elimination game, 'Back to Reality.'
In the elimination game, Traci, Pep and Verne had to guess how other Fame Gamers completed certain sentences in interviews filmed throughout the season. Pep was the first one to guess correctly three times so she was safe. In the tiebreaker between Verne and Traci, they had to guess what Ron said about Rob. Since Rob and Ron were watching the elimination round, Ron whispered what he remembered saying during that interview to Rob so when the question was read, Rob nodded his head a bit when the correct answer was read. Traci got the correct answer, Verne did not and got kicked off.
The producers noticed the body language and reviewed tape, but decided not to reverse Verne's elimination since it was unclear the nod helped Traci.
Watching the argument was like being the designated driver watching two drunk girlfriends argue over who has prettier shoes. They're all saying the same thing, but no one is listening so the conversation just goes on forever in one, big, gnawing circle.
The episode ended on a high note with previews form next week's season finale. Robin tells the stars that to make it to the top, they have to be willing to do anything, even stab someone in the back. There's a couple of seconds in the preview of contemplation and then image after image of Rob throwing items and shouting. There's one shot of Robin having to duck to get out of the way of one of Rob's outbursts.
Should be good stuff, nice and juicy.
