Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. scored a knockout with his 30th birthday celebration over the weekend, with rapper 50 Cent and dethroned Miss Nevada USA, Katie Rees as part of his 30-person entourage enjoying the festivities.
In a few weeks now, "Pretty Boy" Floyd will do battle in the biggest boxing match in Vegas in the past five years when the knock-down drag out war against Oscar De La Hoya gets going May 5 at the MGM Grand. Tickets sold out for that colossal clash within three hours of going on sale.

But he took time out of his intense training schedule and strict diet for the 30th birthday blowout. It all began with Stack Restaurant and bar chef Brian Massie hosting the royal revelers to a "training" meal of caesars salad, surf & turf and the shellfish stack. Both Floyd and "Fiddy" stuck to virgin strawberry daiquiris as part of the regimen. Dining nearby and watching the birthday fun was Kansas City Chiefs star Jared Allen.

Then it was time to walk the Jet Nightclub red carpet and a set of wild surprises. Floyd and 50 Cent brought along family, friends and music artists on his Philthy Rich record label for the birthday bash including DJ Hall of Fame inductee Grandmaster Flash.

Beacher's Madhouse emcee Pete Giovine, dressed as Don King, introduced Floyd and 50 Cent and clubgoers and dancers went wild when Fiddy's lyrics "Go shorty, it's your birthday," hit the speakers. (Luxe Life note: The 5'8" boxer took no offense.) A set of sexy ring girls holding "Round 30" signs, then presented Floyd with a three-tiered boxing ring birthday cake created by Bellagio's Jean-Philippe Maury.

Fulfilling her duties as Miss Jet Las Vegas, former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees fitted Mayweather with a custom made "JET 30th Birthday" Championship Boxing Belt.

The third and final gift was a special "knock-out" rendition of Roonie G's visually intense party video album. With ten, 50" high definition plasmas flanking the club's dance floor, Roonie G fused pop culture visuals with today's hottest songs for a stimulation of the senses. The "knock out" special featured a montage of Floyd's greatest fight highlights edited to the music of such boxing movie classics as 'Eye of the Tiger.' Floyd's near seven-hour, nonstop birthday whirl kept him entertaining his guests until the pre-dawn hours. It followed his appearance in Miami earlier in the day where he and Oscar had promoted the pay-per-view sales to the fight. Both fighters hope and expect their matchup to shatter all previous PPV Records and haul home the biggest payday in fight history!
LUXE LIFE TEASE
From one super birthday to another, and how appropriate it to celebrate Oscar weekend. It was back in 1960 that superstar and screen legend Elizabeth Taylor won her first Academy Award for 'Butterfield 8' and then six years later with then husband Richard Burton she won her second for 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf.' Tomorrow night, Dame Elizabeth will celebrate her diamond jubilee -- yes, her 75th birthday -- and LUXE LIFE will return later with a special look back at some of the memories we shared together over the years. Happy Birthday Floyd, and Happy Birthday Elizabeth!
