Mighty Manilow: The Largest Hand Painted Mural in Las Vegas is Unveiled

Barry Manilow has been filling the Las Vegas Hilton showroom since his "Music and Passion" show debuted in February of 2005. But apparently the Hilton wants to make sure that everybody knows where to find the pop superstar, hence the unveiling of the largest hand painted mural in Las Vegas. The 128' X 56'10" image of the man behind "Mandy" is now on display on the property's main tower.

It took five days to prepare and paint the mural, which towers over the city like a Copacabana colossus. And the company who created the mural promised that "just like Barry, it will have staying power-the elements can't affect it." Fans can sleep safe in the knowledge that Barry will not be felled by wind, rain, or pelting from disgruntled heavy metal fans. South Park viewers may already be counting the days until uber-Barry squares off against the Mecha-Streisand in a titanic battle for dominance on the Easy Listening charts.

1. MY SON'S COMPANY WAS KIND ENOUGH TO LET ME USE THE AIRFARE ON SW AIRLINES TO GO TO VEGAS..HE AND HIS GIRLFRIEND, JILL, ALREADY HAD PLANNED THE TRIP AND MY GOING WAS A LAST MINUTE THING. MY SON WANTED TO SURPRISE ME DURING THIS TRIP AND ASKED ME IF I COULD SEE ANYONE WHILE THERE, WHO WOULD I WANT TO SEE..I ANSWERED, BARRY MANILOW, AND ON CHRISTMAS HE SURPRISED ME WITH A TICKET (5TH ROW CENTER). I WAS SO EXCITED..HIS CONCERT WAS GREAT..HE ALLOWED PICTURES, SO I RUSHED OUT OF THE THEATER & BOUGHT A BARRY MANILOW CAMERA WHICH I STILL HAVE.I AM 63 YRS OLD AND THIS WAS A DREAM OF A LIFETIME..I WANTED TO GET AN AUTOGRAPHED PICTURE, BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY IN THE GIFTSHOP..HE IS TRULY A SHOWMAN AND HAS GIVEN SO MUCH TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY THROUGHOUT THE YEARS..LOVE U BARRY...HOPE TO SEE U AGAIN IF I MAKE IT OUT THERE AGAIN.PS.IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE I CAN GET AN AUTOGRAPHED PICTURE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. 2. Barry is the GREATEST! My daughter surprised me with tickets to his show in Ft. Lauderdale on 2/23 and we had a ball. He is so handsome, so sexy, so Barry!

3. One of the first things I look for is that mural of Barry when I land and take off. It is such a thrill to see it. It's so beautiful! I've been a fan for 32+ years and love going to the shows. I've never had a desire to go to Vegas until the Hilton signed on Barry. My initial reaction when I saw the mural for the first time was, "HI BARRRYYYYY!". That was back in 2005. I've been doing it, ever since. I say, "HI BARRRRRYYY" when the plane lands and "Bye, BARRRRRY. SEE YOU LATERRRRR" when I leave. It's become a "fun" tradition, puts a smile on my face and makes my friends laugh. I even have my friends talking to the mural and the marquee! Although, the "real Barry" is ALWAYS the best to look at. But I we don't always have that option to look at him when we want to, now do we? But, I do have that shot of the Hilton and mural in my photo album. It's the first page to many memories. Love you Barry! You always have and always will be the best!!! 10. I LOVE the new mural of Barry!! It is a wonderful tribute to an amazing person! We, his loyal fans already know that Barry is larger than life and now EVERYONE gets to see this!! February 14th marks my 3rd trip to see Barry at the Hilton.
Many of us-- his loyal fans---plan to be there this week/weekend to give him a proper welcome back!!

13. It's time for Barry to be recognized as the best showman of our time...our generation's Frank Sinatra and someone who has always been caring and mindful of his fans. I am looking forward to seeing him in Vegas soon, in person and on the Hilton tower! Well-deserved for a great man!

14. I was there last year when Barry's second sign was going up at the Hilton Feb. 17. As it was being lifted into place, it got snagged on the building and it ripped down the middle! It was weeks before it was repaired and put back up again. The mural is a great idea. No snags!

15. Luv him & his music...have seen many a show (touring) & twice in Vegas...every time we go I will see the show again!! Absolute talent like no other (well, Neil Diamond is a "hottie" too! LOL) Can't wait to see the mural "live"!!
