Spotting celebrities in Vegas is different than in SoCal's "Thirty Mile Zone." Sure, they're all over the place here in Vegas, but it's not like walking down Robertson Boulevard in LA where you see celebs in the wild doing normal things.
Occasionally there's a nondescript Kevin Spacey spotting at a Starbucks here, but for the most part, celebs are found at the flashy nightclubs, hip and/or high-end restaurants or on the billboards that advertise their appearances at the flashy nightclubs and hip and/or high-end restaurants.
Even when someone like Paris Hilton goes shopping for lingerie in Vegas, there are cameras and a crowd.
The main reason is there's not a lot of celebrity foot traffic in Las Vegas. Except for the celebs that own off-Strip mansions in Vegas, celebs' movements are confined to the casinos, which are like little cities unto themselves with almost anything a celeb needs. If they do venture out of the casinos to someplace like Empire Ballroom or Scores, they're being shuttled around in limos.
So it's unlikely you'll see Justin Timberlake or Jessica Beil playing tourist walking hand-in-hand down the Strip with a fanny pack and a bright pink half-yard of semi-frozen margarita. Although, I do recommend touristing at least once a year. There's something liberating about carrying around a half-gallon of frozen drunkness by the fist that makes you feel so alive. Then again, maybe it's the half-gallon of liquor that is liberating -- glassware unimportant.
To maximize the likelihood of capturing someone like Fergie or Katherine Heigl on your on your cell phone camera, we've put together a list of top spots to celebrity spot. Some of the places are obvious like Pure. You did after all vote it as the City's Best Place for Celebrity Spotting.
Then some aren't so obvious, like the nicer poker rooms. You never know when you sit down at a table, which celeb you may be playing against. That is of course, unless you're at the $1/$2 limit Texas Hold 'Em table, the fanny pack/half-yard margarita equivalent in the poker room. Most celebs will be in the bigger games and tournaments.
Check out the top celebrity spots and keep them in mind the next time you're here if you want to run into a star or two. If you need a daily dose of Vegas celebritydom, be sure and check out Robin Leach's Luxe Life.
