1. Miss America is about education, class, talent and beauty. For anyone that missed the show last night on CMT it had it all. That had to be the most beautiful group of ladies I've ever seen compete for Miss America, and boy were they talented too. Mario Lopez did a great job as MC and the new Miss America was my choice too.

3. They keep on insisting that the Miss America Pageant is a scholarship event. If that is the case, then why do they keep including the swimsuit event? I noticed that voyeurism was creeping into the evening gowns, as well. Except for the modest formal attire by Miss Utah (who wasn't even a finalist), everyone else flaunted cleavage. Make up your mind what you want the Miss America pageant to represent, brains, poise, talent, and personality or breast size.

4. I feel like it is wrong for us to have a Miss America that has tested positive for cocaine so recent. The American children look up to this person and we are condoning drug use and alcoholism and letting our children know that it is okay to use as long as they enter a rehab so they will not be excluded from such a precious position. I feel it is wrong and unhealthy to submit such harsh use to our children and letting someone like this be the idol our children are looking up to.

Next year if it comes down to the five finalists and they are Miss Maine, Miss New Hampshire, Miss Vermont, Miss Massachusetts, and Miss Rhode Island people would create a furor and think the fix was in. It is almost mathematically impossible that the five finalists would all be from the south. Something smells rotten in the Miss America pageant.

11. Stephanie, the story is above. This is the person that has used cocaine so recently and then crowned Miss America. Now, I do wonder if this whole thing is so often rigged. Funny, she is the friend of the person that owns this pageant and can be a drug user, alcoholic and visited the night clubs to the extreme. And now is debating posing for playboy. I'm not one to come down on someone's life style. That is up to you how you live unless you have put yourself in a position that our children are going to be looking up to as an idol. Come on people, this pageant use to do extreme background checks on these girls to know every move they made all through their lives. Now we straight up don't give a damn what the girls do in their past as long as it has been at least 30 days ago? When was the last time she had a drug test and what was found positive at that time? By the way, the remark this guy dennis made above are the remarks that many men will be making about our so called idol of our children and the lifestyle she chose to live.

12. Addition to my statement above. Sorry, I put Miss America again. I am speaking of Tara Conner Miss USA. Sorry for this error but all of these girls are idols to kids, especially little girls that are wanting to enter beauty pageants and all little girls look up to these beauty queens that are suppose to be talented, educated, etc. We don't want the drugs and alcohol to be one of the things that our little girls think is okay to use because Miss USA did them.

13. Miss America and Miss Usa are totally different pageant systems. Miss USA ia a beauty pageant (eveninng gown & swimsuit are the main competitions) and Miss America is a Scholarship pageant whereas the contestant must have a platform, be fit and have brains!!The winner receives scholarship money.
