It may well be the biggest coup in the rock world. Luxe Life has learned that George Maloof has signed hard rock band Tool as his grand opening act on March 15 and 16 to officially kick off his new Pearl Theater at the Palms.

Tool makes it even a more incredible booking because they decided to use the Palms and Vegas as the kickoff for their nationwide tour. As previously reported this week, exclusively by Luxe Life, Evanescence and Gwen Stefani are two more headliners already set to play the Pearl.

"George is a genius. Tool is probably the biggest hard rock band in the world right now," I was told by a rock music insider. "This band is HUGE. Their last album debuted instantly at #1 on the Billboard charts."

The confidante added: "The last time Tool played Vegas at The Joint, they were so in demand there was almost a scandal over nobody being able to score tickets. However the Pearl this time gives them double the space, but it will still be the hottest ticket of the year when it's officially announced. What an incredible coup to launch a new concert theater. This is the greatest, and nobody could beat this."

Tool is also up for two Grammy Awards this year, Best Hard Rock Performance for its song 'Vicarious' and guitarist Adam Jones is nominated for Best Recording Package for his work as art director for the band's latest album, '10,000 Days.'

I've learned that one of the reasons that the biggest names in the business are falling over themselves to play the Pearl at the Palms is because the rockers can literally use the new Palms recording studio in the same building, and simply go right from their luxurious fantasy suites directly to the stage of the Pearl.

"It's the most user-friendly setup for music superstars, they love it. It's the ultimate luxurious setup for rock stars- and beats anyplace else in America in terms of state of the art facilities. Acoustics are 100% perfect and there's total privacy and security every step of the way," my insider pal told me.
