Christina Aguilera Set to Become a Pussycat Doll | $1,000 Cocktails and Other Vegas Extravagances

Girls audition to work at the Pussycat Dolls Casino
More than 90 gorgeous models and dancers turned up at Caesars Palace when Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin began her hunt for beauties to staff its new Pussycat Dolls Casino. Luxe Life has learned exclusively that pop princess Christina Aguilera will be the guest Doll to dance her way through the red ribbon at the VIP Gala opening on March 3. However, the pleasure pit will soft open next Thursday, Feb. 1, and be officially open for Feb. 4 Super Bowl parties. (Click here for the sexy details Luxe Life revealed last week.)

My pal Ken Henderson's Best Agency recruited the potential dancers, as he will be managing the team of temptresses for Caesars. "These truly are some of the most spectacularly good looking women in the world," he commented. And I had to agree as Robin put the first four semi-finalists -- Emma, Alicia, Amber and Genevieve -- through more dance moves as they made it past the first round.

Robin's 12 finalists as of today will be cut down to the final six tomorrow, when they'll be notified its time to sign their contracts. As Robin (seen below) and I looked at photos and checked out the go-go moves, I asked her what makes a Pussycat Doll?

Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Anton
Robin Antin: She has to have that special kind of confidence. Being here right now, auditioning girls for the new pit, I am seeing these girls get up there and at first they may be beautiful, they might be a great dancer/singer but as soon as they get up on stage to show me what they have got, if they don't have that confidence, it is just done for me instantly. So I need to see that I like to look at girls that I can really work with and have potential and are open to a transformation. I look at a girl and say I am going to cut her bangs, dye her hair blonde; I am going to change her outfit.

Robin Leach: So tell me the difference between the regular dancer in the Pussycat Dolls Lounge and a Pussycat Doll in LA. And what's a Pussycat Doll going to do in the pleasure pit of gaming?

RA: Well, there is a difference in the term of dancing. In the Pussycat Dolls Lounge it is all choreographed. But I am looking for the same type of girl that can dance in the pit that still has some kind of training. I don't want just a go-go dancer without the training. You can make go-go dancing look so much better if you have that training. I am looking for the same kind of girl, but in the pit they have to listen to the music I will give them over and over and get to know the accents so they can be hitting the accents.

RL: So this is more than a go-go dancer in a cage, this is a theatrical performance at the same time?

RA: Exactly. I am very pleased with the turnout. When we walked up there was just a line outside PURE all the way down Caesars. So far I think I found more than enough and I am really happy with the talent. A lot of the girls in Vegas already have their gigs so they may not turn out but now because the Pussycat Dolls is big they came out The outfits in the gaming pit are not exactly the same as in the lounge. They are inspired by my vision. I designed outfits that are somewhat different, but similar and we will be selling merchandise inspired by the costumes; a line of PCD lingerie!

RL: So when we talk about empowering women, and about how it is what is inside that makes a doll, is it the same for this as well?

RA: Absolutely. I think that as these girls go through the journey of being in the pit and dancing, they start you find new things, ways of dancing and new ways of performing. The girls in the lounge, from the time they started to now, they are just different girls. I see Jamie, our lead singer who from the time she started to now; she owns it like nobody I know. It is crazy. She is empowered. The same as the recording group. Nicole is very different.

RL: So you know in the major leagues they say that something starts in the farm league. In a sense is the farm league the pleasure pit out there?

RA: It is. Well put. This is now our third installment of performance so we have the recording group, we have the lounge and now we have the pit so that is the third installment of girls. So it starts in the pit, to the lounge then to the group and we also have the TV show 'Search for the Next Pussycat Doll.' March 6th is our premiere. In the TV show we use all the sweats and fun stuff that tie in with the show. But, the lingerie a lot of it will start in the pit and lead to the lounge and then to your own home! The nine, one-hour shows are every Tuesday at 9PM.There were a few that auditioned here in Vegas for the show but that is all I can say. We do find the new Doll and she is fabulous. She'll join the recording group and on tour for the new album, so she wins a huge prize and stardom is just around the corner!"

OUTRAGEOUS EXTRAVAGANCES
Would you believe a $1,000 cocktail? It's true, and the BOA Steakhouse here in the Forum Shops of Caesars Palace serves up its lavish King Richard's Pride liquid concoction in a Baccarat crystal 'equinoxe' glass. It contains the best cognac, the best rose champagne, and the best Chambord all blended with juice of a lime and an orange with a splash of cranberry. Life doesn't get better than this! ... Nearby at the OPM nightclub there's no shortage of sports stars tippling through the cognac, the champagne and the tequila. Pittsburgh Steelers player Joey Porter purchased seven bottles of the stuff for his table and threw $100 dollar bills over the dance floor revelers who went into further frenzy. Nightclub owner Mike Goodwin hands out limited-edition, diamond-studded OPM watches to his celebrity VIP guests including, most recently, platinum rapper Too $hort and BET star-deejay Mad Linx for adding to the excitement. ... Mark Thomas, the wine director of Onda's wine lounge in the Mirage is my kind of hero. He picked five superb champagnes -- all unknown to me -- for a tasting and now I'm raving over the Bruno Paillard, the incredible Jacquesson, the Ployez-Jacquemart, the Delamotte and my newest favorite the Mailly rose that's perfect for the upcoming Valentine's Day of romance and spirit! Sometimes my Luxe Life readers just have to know there's more to champagne than just Cristal and Chandon and Cliquot!

SPAMALOT EXPLOSION
John O'Hurley and Eric Idle enjoy a dance After earning $100 million on Broadway and setting house records on its national tour, 'Spamalot' looks set to explode even further when it lands on the Strip at the Wynn with John O'Hurley as King Arthur in March. (Click here for our first look photos.) Monty Python original Eric Idle, who created the zany madcap musical, told me that he'll open the show in Australia next year and may even team up with Steve Wynn again for a version in Macau. But I couldn't tell if he was joking. However he is very serious about 'Spamalot's' West End production in London because that just gained a record seven nominations for the Laurence Olivier theater awards, named after Britain's most famous 20th century actor. Next week Luxe Life will have our exclusive interviews and photo shoots with Eric, John and hotel tycoon Steve Wynn, so don't dare miss one exciting edition otherwise the show's killer rabbit may just chop off your limbs, as he does during the 90-minute, sing-a-along show! And now for something completely different: enjoy this spur of the moment dance-shot of Eric and John doing "The Dip." Don't miss it! Only here at Luxe Life next week!! Nothing beats the insane antics of Monty Python.
