Dethroned beauty queen Katie Rees, former Miss Nevada USA, will get a crown after all. Luxe Life has learned with this first breaking news story!!
In a "joust" - just for fun sarcastic slap- at the rival Miss America organization executives at the JET nightclub in the Mirage have picked Monday Jan. 29 for Katie's new coronation - thats the very same night that CMT TV will broadcast the Miss America pageant live from the nearby Aladdin/Planet Hollywood resort hotel - just a little south on the Strip.
Katie was stripped of her Nevada title by Miss USA owner, real-estate tycoon Donald Trump after X-rated photos of her turned up on websites from her partying days as a teenage student in her homestate of Florida. Even though Katie claimed it was an isolated one-time incident the hotel mogul refused to give her a second chance- click here for our previous Luxe Life coverage when she appealed for a similar probationary opportunity that he'd given to the current reigning Miss USA after scandalous news reports about her Manhattan nightclub antics were printed.
Katie commented, "You can certainly call this an ordeal. I haven't even been able to go out and spend time with my friends since it all began." When I talked with the spokesmodel over sushi supper at TAO in the Venetian (pictured above) she told me that since moving to Vegas she'd been a hard-working diligent and dedicated spokesmodel - and hoped that one-day it would lead to a legitimate Hollywood television career."
Now she will be crowned Miss JET Las Vegas -- and her coronation party is being billed as 'HAIL TO THE QUEEN' (party flyer below). JET's nightclub marketing director Steven Lockwood commented: " We recognize Kate as the beauty queen that she remains. She will reign strong as Miss JET Las Vegas. "
Kate added, "I'm really excited about the party. It will be a relief from all the stress." The 21-year-old former Miss Nevada USA who is already in negotiations for a Playboy magazine celebrity layout is also set to appear at the Hard Rock Hotel on March 31 as co-host of the returning Madhouse comedy show.
However, press announcements stating that she's signed a staggering unbelievable $2-million contract for once a month appearances in The Joint there have been met with scepticism -- as that would amount to more than $40,000 for each appearance during the run of 24 shows over two-years! Not only is that more money than the entire weekly showgirls' budget for some Vegas Strip shows but one talent expert told Luxe Life: "Who on earth could even use a crystal ball to forecast Katie Rees would headline past her 15-minutes of fame two years from now."
