Miss America Beauties Prep for Pageant | Jenna Jameson Kicks Off AVN | Elvis Remembered

Miss America Hopefuls in Las Vegas
The 52 gorgeous contestants for this year's Miss America pageant are getting ready for their week long return to Vegas. The beauties will be checking in to the Aladdin-Planet Hollywood for preliminary events that all culminate in one final night of competition on Monday January 29.

Luxe Life got a preview look at some of the lovely ladies when they arrived at the hotel for promotional photo shoots. I got to meet 22-year-old Caydi Cole, Miss Nevada (seen below) who is studying public relations and advertising at our UNLV. Her ambition is obtain a Masters Degree in marketing and she's already been a US State Dept student ambassador to Russia. She told me that she will be singing in the talent section of the pageant.

It's a grand celebrity lineup of judges who will also be checking into the Planet Hollywood: actresses Delta Burke and Debbie Allen who is also a successful director and choreographer; singer pianist Michael Feinstein, MSNBC's TV Hardball host, Chris Matthews, America's Next Top Model judge, Nigel Barker and former Miss America (1981) Susan Powell, who hosts Home Matters on the Discovery Channel.

Once the girls arrive in town Luxe Life will chronicle their daily adventures and the preliminaries leading right up to the BIG NIGHT, with exclusive reports and Scott Doctor photos! Hotel president Mike Mecca commented: "We are delighted that the Miss America pageant is returning for a 2nd year. Vegas embraced this event last year for the 1st time and it is only fitting that it is returning to Vegas and Planet Hollywood. Our theater -- the most beautiful in town -- has just been completely renovated, so it's the perfect showroom for the national CMT telecast."

The Vegas telecast a year ago was the most-watched in CMT's history with over 22-million viewers, and it was the first time in its 85-year-history that it took place outside of Atlantic City. Jennifer Berry from Oklahoma was crowned winner and she'll be back in Vegas in two weeks time as show preparations begin. Miss America's education and scholarship based pageant is not to be confused with Donald Trump's Miss USA pageant which is currently being rocked by scandals involving former Miss Nevada Katie Rees who has been stripped of her crown -- for stripping her clothes!

PORN PRINCESSES PARADE
Jenna Jameson Party InviteThe adult film world's leading temptresses bring a totally different kind of pageantry to town this coming week when their Adult Video Awards get handed out in tandem with the giant Consumer Electronics Show invasion. Porn princess and Vegas local, Jenna Jameson kicks it all off with the opening party Thursday night at the top of the Palms Fantasy Tower in the Playboy and MOON nightclubs. Doubtless new beaufriend, UFC contender Tito Ortiz will escort her, as they have become inseparable and closerthanthis! New Vegas resident Sunset Thomas hosts her bash at the Palomino Club. On Friday night Wicked Pictures star Jessica Drake is joined by Faith Leon and Ron Jeremy for the 1-year anniversary party of Strip Las Vegas magazine at JET in the Mirage. Jessica, a 3-time AVN Award winner and seen on HBO's "One Night Stand" and "Lucky Louie" will co-ghost the actual Saturday awards show at Mandalay Bay with comedian Jim Norton. It will be the first time that adult entertainment industry fans will be able to attend; if they shell out the $225 for tickets!!!

TOMORROW'S TECHNOLOGY

Welcome to the world of the 3rd screen! First it was the television screen. Then it was the computer screen and now it has become thewireless screen for cell phones, hand-held devices and pocket computers! I didn't know that in 2005 sales of wireless phones alone topped a whopping $11 billion and its still growing bigger. Vegas welcomes the giant Consumer Electronics Show this weekend -- and AOL will be covering it live 24/7 with five of my camera crews. Check back for real-time, as-it-happens broadcasting. Over 200,000 techies will jam pack our city and I'm told since there's no room at the inn some guests are staying as far away as Mesquite and Primm just to drive in for the displays set up at both the Convention Center and the Sand Convention Center with the adjunct AVN and Intermix adult categories at the Sands and Mandalay Bay. Think of this as the equivalent of a Rolling Stones or Barbra Streisand mega concert. Its the hottest convention of the year and covered by every broadcast and print outlet from around the world as if a major earthquake had struck!

Just 40-years-ago, when CES debuted in New York, less than 11,000 attended. Today, names such as Bill Gates, Sir Howard Stringer and Michael Dell are akin to Jagger and Bono! Experts say the 3rd screen world of emerging technologies; digital photos and videos, music and even Internet TV are all the way of the digital future. You get an idea of just what's ahead from my very own, pick-one-only favorite advance peek into CES with the computer of tomorrow that comes from a simple pen-shaped and sized device.

C.E.S. computer of tomorrow
The show starts officially Monday after weekend previews for press and runs throughout the week but unfortunately is closed to the public. However thanks to AOL and my Total Vegas TV producer and camera teams you'll be able to view it all as it happens!

ELVIS BIRTHDAY

Johnny Fortuno as ElvisIf he was still alive the King of Rock and Roll would be celebrating his 72nd birthday this weekend, but sadly he's just dancing in his blue suede shoes on heaven's great "Heartbreak Hotel" stage. But Elvis will be warmly remembered this weekend at the Cannery by his friends who will celebrate his life of hit records and box office movie smashes. Elvis expert Steve Christopher will host with special performances by Elvis look-alike Johnny Fortuno (and The Stamps Quartet) who has been praised by critics and celebrities as one of the top Elvis Presley tribute artists. Special guests will include Ed Bonja (Elvis' official photographer and tour manager), Cynthia Pepper (co-star in Kissin' Cousins) and Darlene Tompkins (co-star in Blue Hawaii). Other activities taking place throughout the weekend include memorabilia dealers and fan club displays. Even the Cannery Row Buffet presents a special "Food that fed the King" section featuring Elvis' favorite dishes! He'll never leave the House!

FAME GAMES

The other major seminal event this weekend is the premiere Sunday night at 9PM (ET/PT) on VH1 of our new TV series Surreal Life Fame Games. (Click here for our special page that gives you the entire over-view of the unique celebreality show.) What do you think of this ad running in the weekly magazines?

If I say so myself I look rather handsome for my age! Each week our Vegas Pop creative whiz Fat Tony will review each episode in a Q&A with me so that you get all the inside scoop and an advance look at the next upcoming episode. I'm emceeing the wild and crazy antics of Brigitte Nielsen, Ron Jeremy, Chyna, Vanilla Ice, Traci Bingham, Verne Troyer, Jordan Knight, Pepa, Emmanuel Lewis, C.C. Deville and Playboy's Andrea Lowell as they compete for $100,000 in a fierce and furious battle to remain on the A list and not get kicked off the dreaded B-list! I have them filming their own Scandalous Videos, trashing a hotel room and trying to decipher exactly "What is Charo Saying!" Call it "tongue in chic" but it's a masterpiece of entertaining savage humor spoofing the price of fame!

STRIP SCRIBBLES
David HasselhoffOver the course of the next few weeks Vegas explodes with even more hot places and events: super chefs Mario Batali and David Burke will be opening their long-awaited restaurants at The Venetian between now and February 10. ... Magician Steve Wyrick's new theater and TRIQ nightclub will open before month's end. ... David Hasslehoff will don a dress as part of his role in the musical, 'The Producers' opening at the Paris January 30 and super chefs Joel Robuchon, Wolfgang Puck and Mario Batali will team February 10 for the annual Keep Memory Alive Alzheimer's gala that follows the groundbreaking the day before of VIP architect Frank Gehry's medical research and care center being built downtown. There's a whisper afoot that he may bring good friend Brad Pitt and wife, Angeline Jolie with him for the star-studded weekend.

MONDAY'S TEASE

Plus we'll have more Consumer Electronics Show gadgets and gizmos for you and later in the week sexy Sunset Thomas herself will play Luxe Life tour guide to the Adult Video Awards!
