The "tabloids" will claim this week that an ambulance was called and paramedics treated Britney Spears after she collapsed at the PURE nightclub, 50-minutes into the New Year. (Click here for our original Luxe Life stories.)

One employee will be quoted: "Apparently, she was taken to a room downstairs where a paramedic did look at her while she was still out of it. She came around and appeared to be alright -- just had a little too much to drink, apparently. She'd reached total exhaustion and had just fallen and fainted from partying nonstop for several days. Sounds like she may be suffering from "Lindsay Lohanitis"!


Britney's manager Larry Rudolph had claimed yesterday, while being interviewed by both the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Associated Press,that, "Britney had not been drinking that much," and that she'd simply "fallen asleep." However, several people watching Britney on the outside PURE terrace during the fireworks show reported she'd been drinking both champagne and rum and pineapple juice drinks chug-a-lug style. She'd continued on with champagne upon returning to her VIP cabana bed overlooking the club's dance floor.

Nightlife cynics in Vegas laughed at the "fallen asleep" excuse and asked why it took 27 members of her entourage, plus 12 security staff to cover Britney in a blanket-scarf so she couldn't be seen when they rushed her out of the club in the ensuing panic after she fell.

The Mirror reports:

A clubber at the event said: "It was crazy. Britney's bodyguards were trying to stop any photographers taking pictures and shining torches in their eyes. But we saw her being carried out by about five of them with one of their jackets over her head. It appeared she was unable to walk on her own and had to be physically carried out."


Britney had managed to host the 10-1 countdown both inside the hot-swank nightspot and again outside on the outdoor terrace overlooking the Strip while the James Bond-themed fireworks salute cascaded overhead, but exactly 50-minutes later she fell to the floor. Also partying at PURE alongside Britney until she was whisked away was Shannon Elizabeth, Jesse Metcalfe, Marlon Wayans, NBA's Julius Irving, illusionist David Copperfield and poker champion Chris Ferguson.

In the battle of the blondes, Pamela Anderson celebrated at TAO in The Venetian, and risked the wrath of former loves Tommy Lee, around the corner at the Hard Rock, newly separated husband Kid Rock, across the street at JET in the Mirage, and the mysterious Dave Navarro, opposite in the TI's nightclub Tangerine. She showed up with a new man at her side, former Hells Angel NY chieftain turned actor Chuck Zito. Click here for our earlier report of their party romance. Even with a hoarse throat, Pamela raged with the countdown crowd, and as one eyewitness told me "at the stroke of midnight she got very intimate with him." When I joined them earlier in the VIP booth I'd seen them rubbing arms and legs, kissing behind the ears and snuggling oh-so-close!

For the 2nd consecutive night Usher (above with Jamie Foxx) partied at TAO and joined Pamela and comedian Pauly Shore on the microphones for the countdown in to 2007. At 2:30AM, Jamie Foxx had a surprise arrival, explaining that his private jet had been delayed coming in from a Portland concert and he'd missed the actual arrival of the New Year while mid-air! So he promptly did his own version of the 10-1 entry into 2007 all over again his way! He was still partying as the club began to close nearing 6AM!! Hollywood celebrity photographer Larry Birkhead, who claims to be the real father of Anna Nicole Smith's new baby and is demanding paternity tests, tried to get into the VIP section to have his photo taken with Pamela, but the bouncy 'Baywatch' babe turned him down cold and he wasn't going to argue with Chuck Liddell at her side! Illusionist Criss Angel demonstrated some magic tricks while Usher sang two hit songs as a surprise to the crowd.

Downstairs in the main Venetian ballroom over 5,000 wild exuberant fans

gave smooth as silk and satin voiced Lionel Richie (below) a right-royal noisy reception. I'd been invited to mc the incredible show which kicked off with impressionist entertainer Gordie Brown. Lionel timed his songs to end exactly 60-seconds before midnight when I did the countdown and after Auld Lang Zyne I got him back on stage 'one more time' for the longest version of 'All Night Long' I've ever heard. "I haven't had a better New Years Eve" Lionel told me. "This was totally electrifying."

George Maloof's twin-towered fantasy Palms Resort turned into celebrity gridlock too. In the N9NE Steakhouse Rob Dyrdek of 'Rob & Big' on MTV with his crew had a great dinner with Dean & Rey and then went onto ring in the New Year at the MOON rooftop club. Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce also dined in N9NE and then played blackjack in the Playboy Club there with rocker Axl Rose surrounded by Playboy bunnies. Also partying between Playboy and Moon were Mario Lopez, Kelly Clarkson, Suge Knight and while there cuddled close Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson (below) set a scramble in motion when she lost her handbag!! MOON's security eventually tracked it down and safely returned it!

Nicole Richie (below) put to rest those recent eating disorder stories because she had two dinners; the first with her dad Lionel Richie in AquaKnox at The Venetian and then with boyfriend, Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden in N9NE before they went up together to ghostbar in The Palms for him to DJ the countdown and Strip fireworks show into 2007 with other Charlotte rockers and Avenged Sevenfold dancing thru the night! Interesting to note that originally Nicole had been picked to do her own New Years countdown at Tangerine until her 4AM driving debacle on the wrong side of a California freeway prevented that engagement! Nicole and Joel went out onto the ghostbar outdoor balcony to watch the fireworks and "hugged and kissed their way through the 5-minute display" they were really cute together" one of my friends there told me. Inside the Playboy Club playmates Kara Monaco, Alison Waite and Sarah Jean Underwood hosted with Hugh Hefner himself and the trio of Girls Next Door appearing via satellite from his Holmby Hills Mansion for the countdown into 2007!

Some of the world's hottest celebrities camped out at Social House, the Asian themed restaurant in Treasure Island: Britney Spears with 27 friends in tow dined in a private salon on Kobe burgers, lobster salads, sushi and chicken fried rice. In the restaurants Newspaper dining room Dave Navarro and his pals sampled the special "one of everything" tasting menu from Chef Joseph Elevado, including the cucumber sunomunos and sushi! Then he headed downstairs to host the hi-energy party in Tangerine. He was the perfect host posing with photos with club goers and swapping kisses with slews of luscious ladies. At midnight he went onto the main stage for a champagne toast and kissed the gorgeous hostesses and burlesque dancers. Then DJ legend Grandmaster Flash (below)spun the hot sounds as Dave stayed on the shout-outs!

Leonardo Dicaprio with ever-steady Israeli model galpal Bar Rafaeli and his friend Lukas Haas dined at Stack in the Mirage before hitting the JET Nightclub where bad boy Kid Rock was the star attraction for the 10-1 countdown at the DJ booth ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons joined Kid on stage (seen below) for a mash-up that the crowd thrilled to. The duo had fueled up for the show earlier at STACK dining on steak and lobster.

It was also the restaurant that the now inseparable lovemates Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson picked for dinner- and the 20-stitches around his bruised eye didn't put off her tender caresses! Incidentally, JET was the scene of Tito's official post UFC party the night before, and I've learned that Chuck Liddell, who beat Tito in a 3rd round TKO actually went there the night before the fight to "claim it as his winning territory" in a bid to shakeup Tito. Apparently it worked! Chuck posed for photos with two lovely JET dancers and hung out in the DJ booth until nearly 3AM the night before the brutal body bashing he dished out! Chuck held his official after-fight party as the sporting highlight of the holiday weekend in Vegas at Studio 54 in Vegas where our Scott Doctor snapped this close-up photo that shows him smiling over the victory, despite 3 minor facial scrapes!

That feud between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee heated up over the holiday week after the Motley Crue drummer learned that Kid Rock blasted him fort being a half-assed celebrity DJ like Paris Hilton! "That seriously just makes me want to puke and not even DJ," said Rock. Click here for our Luxe Life posting yesterday when he went over to the Hard Rock to fight it out with Tommy, but wound up at the wrong hotel suite!!

Our photographer Scott Doctor snapped the above Luxe Life photo when he joined the Camp Freddy band members for their Body English countdown and performance at the Hard Rock with Scott Weiland and Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver, Chris Chaney from Jane's Addiction, Billy Morrison from The Cult, Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains and Linkin Park's Chester Bennington plus founder Donovan Leitch. Next door at the Joint, Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke, Johnny Colt and Lukas Rossi who make up the reality-series band Rockstar: Supernova (below) had two sold-out shows, wrapping last night.

Over at Coyote Ugly in New York New York, Real World: Denver cast member, Jenn Grijalva rang in the New Year while partying with friends and drinking Grey Goose vodka and cranberry juice. She even joined the Coyotes on the bar to dance a few routines after leading the crowd in a champagne toast. Stunning Playboy Cyber Model Cidney Carson hosted the night before dancing in true Coyote fashion with a few routines on the bar.

In all there were over 30 star-studded events to select from this past weekend with everybody from Vince Vaughn and his comedy show to the 5-burlesque dancers stripping en masse at Ivan Kane's Forty-Deuce in Mandalay bay. It was physically impossible to hit them all but we did get to the best and our photo-team captured all the excitement of the world's #1 party kingdom! In a sense; thank goodness it's over for another year! But what a start to 2007! It doesn't get any better than this!

Speaking of Vince Vaughn, although he and Jennifer Aniston supposedly broke off their romance, you'd never have known that from their romantic rendezvous at the Wynn Hotel this past weekend! They were seen all lovey dovey celebrating and welcoming in 2007!!!

No sooner had the Black Eyed Peas left TAO during weekend (Click here for our Luxe Life coverage) for Rio de Janeiro, than word came that they'll be back for another sell-out show here. Fergie, Will. I. Am. (left), apl.de.ap and Taboo are set to perform more "Monkey Business" during the NBA all-star weekend February 16 at the Orleans Arena, and tickets go on sale today! ... Comic Jerry Seinfeld's basketball cap disguised him perfectly for his lunch with two male friends on the open terrace of Wolfgang Puck's Spago in the Caesars Palace Forum Shops because nobody spotted him. ... Siegfried & Roy returned for a 2nd visit to the Little Buddha Bar at the Palms and Roy celebrated with a little red wine!

TONIGHT'S TIP
Lady Sovereign celebrates her 21st birthday at Studio 54 in MGM Grand, and is even bringing her personal DJ along with her DJ Frampster. This probably sets a new celebrity trend: you're nobody unless you've got your very own DJ in tow!!! The Island Def Jam record star will sashay the red carpet at 11PM. Hopefully Prince will show-up in support and make it a really royal regal event!
