Can you name Miss Nevada USA 2005. How about 2004? Now tell me, who If you don't believe that, name the last Miss America. Hell, name three Miss Americas in the last 85 years. (You can cheat by going here for the official list) I could name two off the top of my head: Lee Meriwether and Vanessa Williams. The former I know because she was Catwoman in the 'Batman' movie and co-starred with Buddy Ebsen on 'Barnaby Jones,' which my grandfather used to make me watch. The latter I know because she appeared nude in an issue of Penthouse, which my grandmother bought me. (My grandparents ruled!)
Anyway, Williams lost her crown because of those photos which, like the photos of Katie Rees, were taken before she won it and included another female.
The scandal didn't seem to hurt Williams, who went on to have a successful music career, selling six million records and receiving 15 Grammy Award nominations, as well as a successful movie career. And while Katie Rees is currently begging for a second chance, even though more nude photos of her are starting to surface, why would she really want it? Chances are she'll never be as famous as she is right now, which can lead to more opportunities than having her crown back ever could. Book deals? Pay-Per-View Specials, Playboy or Penthouse pictorials; they are all there for the taking. And who knows, maybe they will remake 'Barnaby Jones' one day and she could get an audition. Of course, it would probably be a porn remake entitled Barnaby Bones, but that's another story.
