LAS VEGAS – December 8, 2006 – The Cannery Casino & Hotel celebrates Elvis Presley's life with a 72nd birthday celebration on January 5 and 6, 2007 hosted by Elvis expert Steve Christopher with special performances by Johnny Fortuno and The Stamps Quartet as well as a meet and greet with friends and co-stars of Elvis Presley. Tickets are $10 at the door and the celebration begins at 8 p.m.

Johnny Fortuno has been praised by critics and celebrities as one of the top Elvis Presley tribute artists. Fortuno's vocals along with classic Elvis hits brings the audience back to the performance they wished they had seen so many years ago. Fortuno has a raw energy and powerful stage presence which makes his live appearances thrilling and enjoyable. Additionally, Fortuno's costumes pay homage as a tribute to the late King. Elvis' hits can be heard by Fortuno including, "Blue Suede Shoes," "Heartbreak Hotel," "Suspicious Minds" and "Love Me Tender."

One of Elvis' musical influences came from Gospel music he heard in church and at the all-night Gospel singings he frequently attended as a teenager. The Stamps Quartet performed regularly with Elvis Presley on many recordings and concerts as backup. Elvis, who called The Stamps his favorite singers, once said that, Ed Enoch, lead singer of the Stamps Quartet, had the most powerful and best lead voice in Gospel music.

Special guests will include Ed Bonja (Elvis' official photographer and tour manager), Cynthia Pepper (co-star in Kissin' Cousins) and Darlene Tompkins (co-star in Blue Hawaii).

Other activities taking place throughout the weekend include memorabilia dealers and fan club displays. The Cannery Row Buffet will be taking part in the fun by hosting a special "Food that fed the King" section featuring Elvis' favorite dishes.
