Updating our earlier Luxe Life reports on the shaky state of Monday's Billboard Awards, we can now confirm that Paris Hilton (Pop | AOL Music) has also canceled her appearance- so she and Britney Spears (Pop | AOL Music) will definitely not be appearing- and as of 9AM Sunday morning, with less than 36 hours to the live broadcast, producers are scrambling to find a program host! Paris decided not to fly into Vegas after reviewing the proposed script late on Friday . She canceled hair and makeup appointments with Vegas stylist Michael Boychuck and her management team notified Billboard that she found some of the script material " questionable.". Hilton rep Elliott Mintz commented: " Some of the satirical references ridiculed some of her show business peers. Paris did not want to say anything that could appear hurtful or embarrassing about people she knows. She simply didn't like the jokes at other people's expense. It was wholly inappropriate and neither could come to an agreement about the script's content so she decided to scrap the appearance totally."
Meantime instead of the Vegas jaunt , Paris spent part of her weekend celebrating Britney's 25th birthday in Los Angeles. Apparently Brit took her two tots to the LA Zoo yesterday and then dined with family, friends. her tour dancers and manager Larry Rudolph at Mr. Chow's restaurant in Beverly Hills. Then it was time to party and she met up with new best friend, Paris at the Laugh Factory's club-bar along with pop-singer Fergie who'd earlier been at the rival VH1 Big '06 Awards.
Overlooking the Sunset Strip , the new triple threat held court having a great time- and Britney and Paris still held hands and whooped it up to Madonna's holiday track. Paris, who was text messaging former flame, Stavros Niarchos, apparently left early to take him chicken soup to help cure his cold and Hollywood insiders are saying that their on-off romance is back on again! Britney stayed on till closing time.

1. Well good for Paris. Even though some of her actions are questionable at times, she must be commended for backing out of the Billboard Awards. It shows honor on her part that she would not bash people who are her friends or aquaintances. This the best news about her in a long time. GO PARIS.
