A 120 strong cast and crew opened the much-awaited 'Cavalia' horse show under the spiral towers of the big top at the Rio resort hotel. Normand Latourelle, a former Cirque du Soleil founder in 1990, and now Cavalia's Artistic Director told us: "Tonight is a very special night for me and all the show members."The warm welcome we have received by Las Vegas only adds to the beauty of this day. Cavallia, a show unlike any other, is a lavish orchestration combining the equestrian and performing arts. The grand-scale extravaganza explores the relationship between humans and horses throughout history, while showcasing different disciplines. Acrobats, aerialists, dancers, musicians and riders share the stage with man's greatest conquest: the horse. Spectators are transported to dream-like virtual settings, created by a unique combination of enchanting sets, multimedia projections, colorful lighting and dazzling special effects" Over 1.2 million spectators have seen the touring show in the past 3 years, a, with 700 shows from San Francisco, and Seattle, to Boston and Washington including Toronto and Montreal. My pal CNN's Larry King is a real fan and called it "The greatest show I have ever seen."
