Vegas Mash-Up: Jay-Z Vegas Details & Britney Sightings

Jay-Z Promotional ShotThe world maybe watching the Tom Cruise and Kate Holmes nuptials in Rome but here in Vegas, we're on watch for another Mission Impossible: rapper mogul Jay-Z's out-of-retirement concert when he arrives at midnight for a unique show at TAO in The Venetian. Its all part of an incredible seven city, 24-hour, coast-to-coast concert tour promoting his new Kingdom Come CD being released on Tuesday, his first album since declaring his retirement in 2004.

Jay-Z began this morning at 5.15AM from his Atlanta home when he drove to perform a 30-minute center stage concert at the unheard of rapper-celebrity-star hour of 6AM for 200 dedicated fans- who'd probably stayed up all night. Using his private G5 super jet , Jay-Z then sped to Philadelphia along with his main man, pal Memphis Bleek, and an MTV film crew videoing every move of the marathon. The cable network's top personality, Sway, is doing the in-between city's interviews.

In all he'll hit seven cities with the 30-minute shows for his comeback winding up here on the last stop at 3AM in the Asian-themed entertainment emporium. TAO has converted its nightclub for the special one night only 30-minute show so that Jay-Z can perform a longer set on a raised stage.

Click here for Luxe Life's exclusive report earlier in the week of the TAO sneak appearance: one rival club is alleged to have made a competing $400,000 offer to land the Jay-Z concert, but TAO wound up the winner of the current disco wars raging in Vegas. Jay-Z is regarded as the most influential rapper in the business and heads up Def Jam records.

If all goes to schedule, Jay-Z will land at McCarran Airport somewhere between 11PM and midnight this evening and get a police escort to the Venetian where he'll freshen up before taking the stage at TAO for the last of his seven-city, one-day tour! Over 20 of TAO's top executives, who last night celebrated the sister Manhattan hot spot's 6th anniversary, left New York at 9AM this morning to be here for the Jay-Z welcome.

The singer has promised to have his own group of celebrity friends fly in and all plan to party after the concert right through until dawn breaks tomorrow at 7AM!

Comic Relief 2006: Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams

Simultaneously, it's a heavyweiight headliner invasion as Vegas hosts Comic Relief tonight with Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams to wrap up the 4-day The Comedy Festival at Caesars Palace, and mega-money earner Barbra Streisand at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

But in addition pop-princess Britney Spears is in town! Luxe Life reported earlier in the week that the newly-separated, 25-year-old superfstar set up HQ''s in the Palms resort casino as the guest of hotel mogul owner, George Maloof. She's with newly-reunited former manager, Larry Rudolph, and they've been checking the new Palms recording studio. Some reports had Britney flying from her Louisiana family home to the Cariuibbean for a vacation but paparazzi photographers are in force at the Palms after reports she'd been seen shopping in the Forum Shops at Caesars before partying last night at the new Fantasy Tower rooftop Moon Nightclub with good friends Mario Lopez and Maloof.
