Nightclub Wars: Vanessa Minnillo Ditches PURE for TAO

Pop-singer Nick Lachey and his new lady love Vanessa Minnillo find themselves in the center of the ultimate Vegas nightclub wars erupting this weekend.

PURE at Caesars spent thou$and$ on glossy ads announcing that the MTV-VJ would be partying there and performing as guest emcee of the Pussycat Dolls and was confirming her appearance right up until 3PM this afternoon. However, literally less than 60-minutes ago the plug was mysteriously pulled and now she will be celebrating her 26th birthday at the rival TAO nightclub in The Venetian.

PURE's invitations were still in force this afternoon for her Friday, 11PM arrival, when TAO sent out its last minute invitations also for Friday at 11PM and thus the war exploded into the open!

It's believed that the parent TAO group in Manhattanworked with Vanessa on the last-minute change because of the association they have with MTV and her through their Marquee nightclub in New York City.

Even more curious about the tug of war is that Nick is a PURE partner in their new 702 Aspen Steakhouse going into the Luxor next year. Thus, he will still hold his after party on Saturday at the PURE nightclub. But Luxe Life has learned exclusively that Nick will not show at TAO for Vanessa's party and neither will she show for his festivities after his 2nd night of concerts at the Luxor resort hotel.

"They decided they just don't want to be seen together this weekend or caught by the paparazzi living and loving it up in Vegas," one club insider told me. "It gets you wondering just why all the secrecy and last minute change of plans, what are they exactly up to."

A stone-faced spokesman for PURE told Luxe Life "We are still hoping that Vanessa will be able to do the Pussycat Dolls appearance in a few weeks time. Pussycat Dolls founder Robyn Anton was just so tied up with the new TV reality series they are filming she just didn't get sufficient time for rehearsals with Vanessa and everybody wanted her to shine perfectly in the role, so we agreed to postpone it." An ecstatic TAO spokesperson commented: Vanessa is definitely at our restaurant and club, there are no questions about that fact!"

Nick, who will film TV-commercials and spots for the new Luxor steakhouse before his Saturday PURE party, arrives here tomorrow for his Friday and Saturday concerts. Both Nick and Vanessa have confirmed that she will be front row for his performances, but again they plan on giving the slip to pursuing photographers to avoid huggy-huggy kissy-kissy Vegas shots.

Luxe Life will be at both TAO and PURE for the bizarre tug of war so check back for breaking news throughout the weekend and on Monday for the full weekend wrap up.
