The bust-up between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline is official, exactly 2-months after their 2nd son was born, and as Luxe Life has reported in recent postings, her decision to finally seek a divorce is blamed on his recent sexy shenanigans here in Vegas. Kevin, who once boasted, "She'd never divorce me," was seen with strippers pre-dawn in a private skybox at the TAO nightclub a month ago and 2 weeks later Britney herself snuck into The Venetian nightclub skyboxes to check out the information for herself.
As a result, Britney filed for divorce this morning in LA's Superior Court after the couple officially separated on Monday. Britney cites "irreconcilable differences" for the breakup. She has asked the court for both legal and physical custody of their children.
They were married October 6, 2004 and separated exactly 2 years, 1 month later! They have two children Sean Preston, 13 months and Jayden James, 8 weeks. Britney has hired family lawyer Laura Wasser of the $500-an-hour Wasser, Cooperman and Carter law firm in Century City to handle the upcoming battle over child custody and her earnings and previous fortune.
Britney wants to keep all of her jewelry, personal effects, earnings and assets from and after Monday, and additional separate property assets she has but hasn't yet listed for the court.
Federline, trying to build a rap-singing career, was allegedly served with his summons last night, just a week after his new rap record 'Playing With Fire' was released and, as he was about to start a national tour. Britney flew to New York last night for a surprise appearance on the David Letterman show soshe would be 3,000 miles away from Federline when he was hit with the legal papers. She stunned viewers with a new sexy trimmed-down look and was obviously happy with the decisionto split from the former backup dancer known for always wearing a "wife beater" shirt and fedora hat.
They've both been in Vegas separately in recent months denying reports of a split, but on one visit Britney told friends she'd finally had enough of his wild night bachelor-boy antics and vowed when ready she'd seek the divorce. Federline always laughed it off saying he had control over her and she'd never divorce him.
Guess he'll be singing a new rap song now!!! And maybe Britney will follow in Shanna Moakler's footsteps and celebrate with a divorce party here in Vegas, which might just become our city's new rage!!
